Hi Julio

I have tested on Android and iOS , using the Chrome browser and Safari and
it still fails.

MP4 is just a container format.
It would be nice, if you can upload a small piece of video here.

  • Category set to Documents
  • Status changed from New to Needs more info
  • Target version changed from 1.10.4 to 1.11.0

I believe this is fixed in 1.10.4 (i.e. you can test it on https://unstable.chamilo.org). This was due, on one side, to the width and height of a video set by default and not being able to left empty (the height need to be left empty so the video can be responsive).
On another side, there was an issue in the upload form that might have confused users about uploading an image (preview thumbnail) for the video instead of the video itself.

I believe trying it on unstable.chamilo.org should confirm it is fixed. Otherwise, just let us know here taking a few screenshots of how you do it, so we can look into it. In the meantime, I'm moving this task to 1.11.0 because I don't think it applies anymore.

Hi,

I've tested the last options and also it still fails.

I used a video test example.

In my computer, the video works fine, however, in my smartphone it don't work.

I've some screenshots.

Thank you!

tested in unstable.chamilo.org (with an android), it works ok, however, it can be misinterpreted the fact that exist a delay (when the video is loading after click play).

Confirmed in iOS it fails to load the video when you click PLAY ICON

Are you trying to use Chrome (in your iphone) instead Safari?, i think this is most a Safari issue

Yes, I tried using Chrome too but without success.

  • Target version changed from 1.11.0 to 2.0

We don't officially support Safari, so I'll slip this bug to 2.0 for now. We would gladly receive contributions (in code or donations) for a patch to this.

Hi everyone!

I'll try to use a new version of HTML5 video from Mediaelement js (http://mediaelementjs.com/). I've tested a video sample from Mediaelement site home page, using Google Chrome and Safari on Iphone and the test works fine!

Hello everyone!

I identified the problem with Chamilo videos on Iphone. I've tested in https://1.10.chamilo.org

Example:

I did upload of video small.mp4 to the folder /app/upload/users/1/1/my_files/
I did upload of video samll.mp4 to the folder /courses/TEST3333/document/

Case 1 -The file uploaded to /app/upload/users/1/1/my_files/ is readable. (https://1.10.chamilo.org/app/upload/users/1/1/my_files/small.mp4)

Case 2 -The file uploaded to /app/upload/users/1/1/my_files/ isn't readable. (https://1.10.chamilo.org/courses/TEST3333/document/small.mp4.mp4)

I could watch the video on Iphone in the Case 1.

I guess this is a permission problem to the courses folder.

I put the same video on home page and I could watch the video on Iphone (https://1.10.chamilo.org/index.php?language=spanish).

Thanks!
