Right now we have main/install/version.php and also a version in main/inc/conf/configuration.php

I suggest to remove the version inside configuration.php.

The version.php is in the main/install/ folder (which can be removed after install), and serves during the installation and for automated scripts (and after that it's never useful). It reflects the Git version, to say it that way. Because this folder is updated after each upgrade (because the file is part of the upgrade files), it is automatically updated and can help the developer locate which version is being used.

The configuration.php version serves to indicate the version of an installed portal (it has to stay there). The version in the configuration.php can be changed manually by a system administrator (as can the software name) to show something different than Chamilo and the real current version.

So they serve two really different purposes.

I don't think we should remove any of them, but if you want to remove one, it should be the one in main/install/. I would prefer leaving it, though.

Any specific argument for removing it?
