Description

Hi,
I've got a course with no forum category created.
I'm in the Learning Path authoring view.
I click on the icon Forum and Create a new forum.
I've got the Forum creation page, but I cannot fill the field "Create in category" because I've got no Category. As a result, I cannot create my forum "The form contains incorrect or incomplete data. Please check your input."

Well, as I see, category is mandatory for creating forum in course, as well as in Learnpath tool. For that reason, i think that is not a bug, isnĀ“t it, Julio??

I agree, but the user is stuck in a dead-end form, it should be better if we could avoid it.
May be, in this case, we can add a forum category, named "Default" or "Leaning Path".
Then, the user will be able to create his forum from a learning path, even if no forum category where previously created.

What do you think ?

We could create a forum category "Learning path", like in the Document tool, Chamilo create a folder "Learning path" if we create a new document from the tool Learning Path.
It'll be logical.

Hi,

Other way to say that :

If category doesn't exist, add forum button should return to add category page.
If one or more categories exist, add forum button should return to add forum page. I mean, in learning path tool.

Is it possible ?

Regards
Guillaume

Sure, that shouldn't be a problem. I'll assign Daniel to that, he's new to this but should be able to fix that shortly with my help.

Hi, below the form are the buttons for create a category or a forum (only if category exists), then the user can add categories and forums. I'll fix this redirecting to add category if it doesn't exists

Checked and approved.
There is still some running-around as creating the category (the first step when you click "Create forum", now) doesn't "hint" you at creating a new forum, and creating a new forum doesn't put it directly in the learning path, but at least the user is not "stuck" (he will know how to come back to the learning path as (s)he was in the learning path in the first place.
