I'm not sure where to talk about this, but here a try :-)
Xapian is integrated in 1.8.x to search almost all entities in the system.
Are there plans to support the same in 2.x ?
Is there any other different approach about search in 2.x ?
I originally worked on xapian integration for 1.8.x, and I want to do the same for 2.x ;-), but I still could not try 2.x :-p. So first, is there interest on that?

Hello Marco!
I discussed this briefly with Hans and Sven (the lead developers for 2.0). At the moment all focus goes to the release of the beta (mid may). You are more than welcome to implement this feature but we believe it might be better to postpone this to a release after 2.0. That way there will be more documentation and more time from the developers to introduce you in the system and give you help.
