Description

What about wiki? Simple or advanced mode. If you choose advanced mode you can automatically generate a page where the teacher write the work, links to all his students and a page for each student linked with his teacher. All is automatical

That could be as well. André, do you have to have a closed space for each student (then best solution would be personal notes) or can each student see the work of others (then can be wiki or blog)?

More information about Wiki:
if you use wiki as individual assignment, each student only will be able to acces to his/her assignment page and to teacher page, the pages of the others students remain hidden for him/her, not for his/her teacher. In this mode students can't create new pages, they must do his exercises only in one page but with a lot of versions.

1. register some students in your course
2. go to Wiki and start it editing the main page once
3. add a new page
4. fill title and content. Click on advanced setting, then tick Define this page as an individual assignment.
5. Save
It's all

yes, it does work, but it would improve menus. Without explanation, I think my students will not know where to go. Especially with the hidden menu

Don't use the hidden menu to access to assignments.
After create your assignment, you can make in the main wiki page a wiki link to it, for example with a text like First exercise. This wikilink will take your students to the Assignement-teacher page, there each student will find its name in a wikilink that will take it to his/her student page.
Don't forget students must do their works only in one wikipage.

André, I gather from the silence that you are not entirely satisfied with the wiki solution. We don't have it as a priority for now to improve this part the way you suggest for now (we'd need a lot more popular insistance). Just to let you know.
