Description

I tried to create a test using categories and 1 question without.
The trainee only sees the 2 questions with categories
When correcting, I only can correct the 1st question.

Test de test (on fait du multipages ?/Tests/Test exemple avec et sans catégories/Résultat

Good luck ;)

In the meantime, the categories are not so easy to use.

Here is what would be great:
- I create 3 categories (cat1, cat2 and cat3)
- I create 30 questions and assign them to the categories (for the example, 10 questions in each category)
- To generate the quiz, I can request 5 questions from cat1, 2 questions form cat 2 and 6 questions from cat3

A nice to have would be even being able to generate a quiz with a mixture of categorized questions, and questions without category (reused from the question database).

So on a pool of 100 questions, I can used 13 from categorized questions (as pair as my example) and 7 questions that don't come from any category.

I don't know how hard it could be to have this ;)

Hi,

Eric, how did you configure your test for advanced parameters :
Random questions
and
Random questions by category ?

Hi Hubert,

For categories, it's exactly at the same place than questions database (just the folder icon before ;))
So you have first to create your categories.
Then you create your questions and assign them the relevant category (but it could exist questions without category...)

Then when you go to the scenario, if you choose to use categories, you don't have much option, only with or without.

This is a bit strange as if you want to generate a quiz, or you need to have categories, but you don't know how the platform will deal with them, or you don't use category and you acn use as many questions as you want (up to the number created).

If I'm not clear, please feel free to ask any comment I would be more than pleased to assist !

Is it working 80% ?
This means (if I'm correct) that I can use questions with and without category ?

Thanks in advance, as I see "Need feedback", but I don't really know what you need ;)

Expected (if possible) is to be able to generate quiz, picking up questions(here you decide the total amount of questions in the quiz).

If there is no category, then the system "chooses" questions randomly.
If you use categories, the system picks up the number of questions within the choosen categories and if extra questions needed, picks-up from uncategorized questions.

I try to get a bit of clear (hard to explain :)):
I want a quiz of 10 questions, and I have a database of 100.
Without category, I select random => 10 and it's done.

Now I use 3 categories (easy, medium and hard for example)and have 30 questions spreads into the 3 cat (so 30 questions per category) + 10 questions without category.

I decide to use category and want to have 2 Hard, 2 medium and 3 easy.
On my basis of 10, the system will as well pick-up 3 uncategorized questions.

Obviously, categories are not as simple as easy, medium or hard ;)

I hope I cleared up a "friendly user" thought :)
Good luck guys !

Hi,

Now I use 3 categories (easy, medium and hard for example)and have 30 questions spreads into the 3 cat (so 30 questions per category) + 10 questions without category.
I decide to use category and want to have 2 Hard, 2 medium and 3 easy.

On my basis of 10, the system will as well pick-up 3 uncategorized questions.

Before answering your question, this is an example how the tool works for the moment :
- I have 3 categories easy, medium and hard with 30 questions in each categories
- I have 10 questions without category
I can create a test with 3 random questions by categories.
The test will have 9 questions, 3 of each categories, 3 easy, 3 medium, 3 hard.
If I want to use the 10 questions without category, I'll have to add a category "No cat" (for example) and give the 10 questions this "No cat" category.
Then, I'll have a test with 12 questions, 3 easy, 3 medium, 3 hard and 3 "No Cat".

This is how the tool works for the moment, questions must have a category to be used by the tool.
I think I've misunderstood your needs. You didn't found a bug in the tool (am I right ?) but you want to add new functionnalities to this tool.

If I understand well, functionnalities you want to add are :
I). use questions without category
II). be able to choose the number of question you want to pick in each category
Numbers of question may be different for each categories, e.g. : 2 for easy, 2 for medium, 3 for hard and 3 for without category (like in your example)

[N.B.

I decide to use category and want to have 2 Hard, 2 medium and 3 easy.
On my basis of 10, the system will as well pick-up 3 uncategorized questions.

In this case, I think, in order to have a less specific tool, user will have to enter the number of uncategorized questions he wants. It is easy to do, and, another teacher may want to fill the test, to the total number of questions, with easy-category-questions instead of uncategorized questions. This would be a third new functionnality.
]

Can you tell me if I am right ?

Regards,

Cool, the score is just GOOD (perfect!),

Categories are not yet as I thought on http://chamilodev.beeznest.com/main/admin/
I only can choose if I need categories, but can't select the one I want to use, ifficulty doesn't show up.

Would it be possible (feature :) ) to have this kind of behavior:
Categories + diffculty.
I'd like to be able to create "automatically" (from th equestion database) a quiz that is generated from selection of categories and difficulty.
Example, I'd like to have 2 Question cat1, difficulty 1, then 3 questions cat1, dif3, and finaly 5 questions cat2, dif4.
Even, if I select random question higher than the categorized one, the quiz takes from orfan questions.

So if I have a database of 20 questions, 10 spread into categories and difficulties, if I request a quiz of 15, using only 7 from categories, it takes 8 from non-categorized?

small issue: when you are in the column score, if you hit Enter key, is removes the last question (as if you click on - 1 question).

OK so we'll wait until RC1 :)

The tricky part here is to be able to use a certain number of quetions within a certain number of categories...

Good luck!

Don't know where we are, sees that there is still only 1 category field, so generating the quiz using category is not for this version.....

Maybe 10? :)

That's right only 1 category per question, (you can open a new ticket for the other feature).

Talking about the other issue: "when you are in the column score, if you hit Enter key, is removes the last question (as if you click on - 1 question)."

that's because the first button that appears in the form is the "- de réponses" button, you could create a new ticket for that, I'm closing this ticket.
