It would be nice to allow users to subscribe to sessions (if enabled by the administrator), like they can subscribe to courses. In a setup where all learners are only in sessions, the subscribe-to-course feature is useless, but subscribe-to-session can be useful.

Has this ever been implemented? I still copy complete courses with user data when needed but now I want to switch to sessions to save disk and database space and to avoid complaints from users that still see their old courses that are expired.

A move-user-data-from-course-to-session would be an alternative approach: users subscribe to the course and are later moved into a course session.
Why is session 0 (the base course) not visible/convertable as a real session? You see the id_session=0 in every URL.

Hi Jan, yes, both features are in 1.10.2

For the one that is the topic of this task (which I will close now that you've pointed it out) is available if you enable the sessions catalogue (search for "catalogue" in the platform settings) and if you check "yes" for the following option:

The second one you mentioned (being able to move user data from course to session) is available in the "sessions" management block on the admin homepage:

(I'm voluntarily screenshooting 2 links because they are slightly related)

This last option (to move results) has been tested, but not enough to my taste, so I would use it with additional checks at the beginning (to see if it works as you expect). Maybe on a test portal, if you have one.
