I get the same error as dominique on the latest stable code. it is however under the general assessment tool (under the evaluation tab), not in the courses assessment tool.
I run the latest stable code under wampwerver 2.1 on my local disk.

I synchronised to the latest stable version, and now I don't get the fatal error anymore, but a warning: "hotpotatoes complex display does not exist"

Still doesn't work in the general assessment tool (not in the weblcms!!!) : I can publish a hotpotatoes exercise to this application, but when I click the green arrow to take the exercise, I get a blanc screen.
