Course: in tools publish button is not recognized change "Publish" to "Add"?

The first icon for teacher view is "Publish"

  • on first contact people get confused by the publish button as they don't realize they can add an object with this button. This feeling tends to persist for casual users.
  • you can actually "Add" objects with this button

On the other hand you really publish an object when you click this button.

Possible solutions:

Change "Publish" to "Add"
Change icon to a +
Separate "Publish" from other commands

We had the same experience with the portfolio and changed the "publish" to "add portfolio" there.

Publish is an essential concept in Chamilo2.

It's like creating a shortcut to a content object.
We have no problems with introducing the 'publish'-concept to our users.

If need be you can always adapt the translation file.
I wouldn't advice it though, it will confuse your users even more.
