Description

The course type management system has created a bunch of issues in the weblcms. For example when you want to create a new course with no course settings attached the system won't let you create that course.
We should think about how we can improve the course type management system

One possible solution would be to take a cloning/templating approach:

  • add a boolean field called "Template" to a course
  • add a field called "Parent" to a course
  • reuse the standard tools to create a template course - with no parent.
  • on creation of a new course clone the parent - including objects like intro, etc

on the other hand that would be a significant departure from the current solution. Not sure it would be worth it.
