Hints are shown in various question types, but not all. There is however no way for an instructor to select whether he wants hints or not (essential)and to add specific hints if he wants so.
At this time hints work only in 'fill in the blanks' type, automatically showing the first letter when a hint is selected.
BUG: Hint does NOT do anything in the matrix question, and it shows only a blank field in the matching question.

Conclusion:
*instructor should be able to select whether hints should be possible or not ==essential
*instructor should be able to give a particular hint or all hints should be automatic in a similar way
*hints should be implemented in a similar way for all question types where they make any sense
