Feature #258
Users importing format for gradebook requires User id
100%
Description
Please. It would be more useful if the format when importing data (for example at gradebook, grades) is "Official code" and not "User id", because you must have to find out the user id of each user, and it's difficult for teachers understanding too much steps of "CSV files". At least at Mexico, Excel manages Commas and not semicolons, so when you export, you must change manually. Attaching an example... thanks.

Hi Iliana, and thank you for your suggestion.
We are currently working on an Excel import feature (to avoid going through the CSV step).
Your suggestion of importing users with their official code cannot be applied because not all institutions do use official codes. The only possible improvement there (to remain generic) would be to use the unique username (=login) to insert the users.
The gradebook is relatively new, so we welcome your feedback on usability issues.
I agree on an improvement to use the login instead of the user ID. We will try to implement this into 1.8.6.2 (end of October, probably)
