No estoy seguro pero como señala Iván, creo que el error puede estar en el commit

I am going to write an instruction how the bug to be reproduced...

#6

Updated by Ivan Tcholakov about 8 years ago

Here is how-to about reproducing the bug:

1. Use Internet Explorer 8.
2. Create a new course with demo content inside.
3. Go to the "Documents" tool and begin to create a html file "Testing the FLV player" using the empty template.
4. Insert the demo flv file video/flv/example.flv and save the document.
5. Preview the document, see in the first picture what is in my screen - the video does not show up.
6. If you begin to edit the file "Testing the FLV player" again, you will discover that the inserted video is not detected by the editor properly. See the second picture.

ahhhh of course! ie8! I'm agree to changing the code if its going to allow the flv player works normally ...

Today I tried again to see what the result would be if I simply switch to SWFObject. It does not work, it seems to me that some symbols in the inserted script like " ' / are escaped. Some time ago this worked for me.

Tomorrow I will make more tests about this problem.

Tests
---------------

Opera 11.01: Ok
Firefox 3.6.13: Ok
(Firefox) Minefield 4.0b12pre: Ok
Chrome 9.0.587.84: Ok
Safari 5.0.3: Ok

Internet Explorer 8:
- The editor's manipulations are Ok;
- Fails to show the movie when the document is shown inside a frame (there is a bunch of "hackish" javascripts in main/documents/showinframes.php that somehow causes this problem);
- Shows the movie when document is shown in a separate page (full screen).

First I am going to fix the spotted problem with IE8, and then I will decide whether SWFObject implementation should stay or not.

When inserting images flash (swf) does not play correctly, are negative

In the editor there is (or should be) "Insert Flash" button which is to do the job. You used the "Insert video (flv)" button which is for playing movies (flv), this is a different task.

Yes, but the idea is to have a multimedia button for most of these things, like what is TinyMCE. Would reduce the bar buttons simplify and increase in the extended as well to deploy flash in full screen.

It is a nice suggestion, but I would not have time for its implementation. If you wish, open a new task, somebody might take it.

Ok, but in reality everything works except this. I do not know how complicated it can be fixed.

I have a second thought. I think, we should not reduce the number of the multimedia related buttons. In some cases it the inserted link may point to an external URL, something like this one: http://www.multimedia-server.org/dowload?id=834792384792 . In this case there is no way type (video, audio, flash) of the file to be detected - the user should know it and choose the right editor's button/dialog.

I will post a new suggestion for the task #2763.

#19

Updated by Juan Carlos Raña Trabado about 8 years ago

So you think that only one button is not possible?

#20

Updated by Juan Carlos Raña Trabado about 8 years ago

Could we know by the file extension?

#21

Updated by Ivan Tcholakov about 8 years ago

In some cases we could, in some cases we could not. I prefer the current set of multimedia buttons to stay "as-is".

#22

Updated by Juan Carlos Raña Trabado about 8 years ago

Ok if you think so, I will go to the bars simplified a button to flash, one for audio and one for video of youtube, and pass the media button to the extended bar. The idea is to reduce the number of buttons on the simplified
