Description

A few small changes would certainly improve the usability of the calendar (both personal & course calendar).
  • when creating an event, the actual day & hour is shown, 15h36 e.g. It is highly improbable that anyone will ever organize a meeting at 15h*36*. If 15h36 is the time of drawing the event, it would already be an improvement if the standard time shown would be 16h00 (or 9h00 the next day). The minutes drop down menu shows every minute, whereas a standard option would be 00/15/30/45. The latter makes selection a lot easier & quicker. There could be an extension symbol (+ or something alike) if one really would one more choices. Ideally these would be user settings.
  • in the screen of the event creation process, there is no monthly overview anymore. Esp. when planning an event that is sometime in the future, this is very annoying. It would definitely be an improvement if the monthly overview would be on top of the properties screen area. Better even would be that I can pick a date on that calendar monthly view at which the event takes place. One (or just a few) clicks in stead of selecting a day, a month, a year: 3 drop down selection lists.

When clicking on the icon next to the date selector (see screenshot) you get a popup window with a month view where you can select the date much easier.

Maybe we can create a likewise popup for the time as well (a bit like in thunderbird, where you can select in larger intervals, but still leave the current situation as it is for the advanced users who need to plan on a very specific moment)

Thank you, this is indeed better. A few extra's would even make this nicer:
  • after selecting a starting day, the end date should automatically move to that date:
*in many if not most cases an event will take no longer than a day
*even if it takes longer, the date will most probably already be in the correct month and anyhow it will be past the start date :-) (and certainly past the post day, as it is now)

I do not use thunderbird, but like you describe it, it would certainly be an improvement

  • % Done changed from 0 to 70

Added the functionality to have a change in end date when the start date is selected. However this is still not working when selecting the start date with use of the date selector

  • Status changed from New to Needs testing
  • % Done changed from 70 to 100

The last bug is fixed. The only open issue left is the advanced timepicker, but i'll close this topic for now since it's not the most important part yet.
