can not recreate problems. Deleting of items works as expected on my installation

yes you probably need a new install to create the new tables
maybe it will solve the other problem too

install is now a total disaster... countless screens with errors

errors on installing the portfolio application or for other applications?
install with only the portfolio application selected gives errors on some streaming-media things and content objects but install is succesfull when I try it

Chamilo is more than just the portfolio :-)
